The Role:-
· Maintaining and growing existing business through excellent category management and customer relationships

The Candidate:-
· Will have good experience working with one or more of the multiples (discounters or majors)
· Will be university educated with a minimum of a 2:1 degree in a relevant subject
· Will have had previous FMCG experience, ideally in an ambient or frozen food sector.

Our client is a growing and already successful soft fruit business primarily in the retail supply chain. They are continuing to expand and therefore are recruiting in for some supporting roles which have a lot of potential for development.

Your role will be to select, negotiate with suppliers, and to source product that offers outstanding quality and value. Your role will be to select, negotiate the terms and make available ranges offering outstanding quality and value, whilst ensuring that packaging, merchandising, availability and efficient selling are fully considered.

The company in question is one of the leading UK retailers and is really in the ascendancy right now. You will need strong negotiation skills, an in depth knowledge of the category and an understanding of how to incorporate promotions and range development whilst focusing on the customer.

To be successful in this role, you must have the ability to work cross functionally. You must be able to travel to both stores and suppliers. Previous experience in buying and some sort of non-food product are realistically 'must haves'.
