Our client is the single biggest importer of produce into the UK. We have a role as Business Unit Planner which reports into the Category Manager/Commercial Manager and the role is to effectively plan and manage the stock and ordering process for a specific group of products - in this case flowers and plants.

  • You will be required to work with the buyers on forecasting, work with suppliers to align their plans to yours, create and send order confirmations and manage stock levels.
  • You will need experience in a similar role - planning, stock management, buying etc ideally from a fresh produce background.

Senior Technical Manager (Raw Materials) (ref:3858)

As Senior Technical Manager for Raw Materials you will be responsible for ensuring that the raw materials going into our client's products are safe and comply with all relevant legislation. This will entail working closely with all raw materials suppliers for both the European and overseas operations, working closely with the Global Technical Director and managing a Raw Materials Technologist.

Our clients are at the forefront of producing high quality natural ingredient baby foods. Their first full year of trading (to June 2007) generated almost £1.4m turnover and are expected to hit £50m this year.

The IDEAL candidate will possess:

  • You will need a good Food Science/Technology or similar degree.
  • You will need to have strong spreadsheet and data handling skills and be numerate.
  • You will need to have strong organisation skills.
  • You will have a good knowledge of food processing and product development processes and will be keen to be exposed to a wide range of relevant products and processes, e.g. purees, ready meals, baked goods, dried fruits.
  • You will have an excellent understanding of raw materials control (experience in baby food is preferable but not essential), including managing raw material quality from grower through to finished product manufacture.
